ABOUT ME!
My name is Katrina Scotland. Also known as TRINA, Kat, Kate, egg, lemon and Mum (even to people other than my 3 kids).
I am 44. I am married (20 years) and have 3 teenagers aged 14, 16 and 18.
I like to think of myself as super real, possibly even a bit plain Jane… I pretty much never wear makeup (unless to get professional photos or for a super special occasion). I don’t ever use filters (I figure people are going to see me out and about anyway, I don’t want them to get a bad shock when they see me in person! Haha). I don’t know how to do reels or fancy social media stuff. I try to share honest true stories about me at times, as I also believe that you can get strength from sharing vulnerabilities. I just like to keep it real and be me and hope I can connect with some special people doing this….
How I got into Fitness!
I spent MANY years working in Finance jobs, sitting still at a desk all day. ARGHHH. Then I met my friend & PT Loui Fesolai. I was about 31/32 years old at the time, and he got me doing strength training properly, for the 1st time ever!! From this I then saw changes in my body. I saw MUSCLE GROWING and MY SHAPE CHANGING, and I totally fell in love with it. It made me feel like I was more then just a mum. I was ME again.
A few years down the track of loving the Health and Fitness lifestyle some more, I even did 12 Body Sculpting Comps in the space of 2 years (all done in a healthy way and never even losing my period). Even managing a couple of National 2nd places and a few other state places. But I loved the lifestyle so much and it was my passion, that I decided to study and make the career change.
I have now been a PT since 2017 and now also a Nutritionist and Health And Wellness Coach since 2021 and I absolutely love it. I want to share my love for this lifestyle. To help other people make positive changes to their lives. To feel better, move better and then the looking better just flows too. Not to mention that I also think it helps fight the aging process.
I am so passionate about getting as many people fit and healthy as possible. Then even more so after my dad passed away from a Heart Attack. There are things we can do to make us healthier in all ways. There isn’t much we can control in this world. But HOW YOU MOVE and HOW YOU FUEL YOUR BODY is mostly something you have control off. YOU CAN do things to make a difference, how empowering is that!
Over my time being involved in the Health and Fitness industry I have learnt soooo much. Learnt from the study I did obviously, but also so much from being in the gym environment, and from training many different clients with very different backgrounds and limitations. But I also know how busy people are and how finances can sometimes be a big factor, as to which direction someone might take. So I am working towards creating options to suit everyone.
When I’m not working or training, you can find me hanging with my family, walking along the beach, watching sunrises and sunsets. Or perhaps pretending I’m a landscaper and working in my yard… HAHA
